Never read truer words. My dad and I scouted this spot pre season, and the water was only about 3 feet deep. We came back in the beggining of January before light, and through out the decoys. We pulled the boat into the tules as far as we could and both jumped out. It's a good thing I had ahold of the side of the boat, or my waders woulda filled with water too and neither of us woulda been able to get back in the boat. The water was so cold it sapped all his strength and I had to pull him back into the boat.
