wish me luck

Postby flight control » Fri Mar 15, 2013 8:01 pm

I just applied for a job that I desperately need. It would mean leaving my family for three weeks at a time, home for one week, but would pay more than twice what I can make here. I'm not asking for prayers, seems like that should be done on behalf of others, but some good vibes, fingers crossed, and you could put in a good word for me to the Big Guy if you deem this worthy of mention. I've seen this group pull off some amazing stuff before.

Wish me luck

Good luck!

Thanks guys

Its a job as a carpenter out west on the oil rigs
I was there a few years ago working for the guy I contacted. I heard through the grapevine he was looking for guys so I pray this works out. Those jobs are tough to get, the company hires project managers, superintendants and the like, then they hire their own crews, usually have to know someone to get in. This is pretty much my only contact, after this I will just have to blindly send my resume to people I don't know in hopes that they are desperate for workers.

The sand there is saturated with oil. The whole setup is the size of a town and they are very remote places. They need office buildings, camps to house all the workers, maintenance work, concrete forms, I even helped "blast proof" some buildings.

So basicaly, to extract the oil, they need to build a medium sized town. Hopefully they need one more guy

Yeah these things are huge, some of them have been running for over 40 years. I have no I idea how many people it takes to run them, but its more than a few thousand per site. Campers won't cut it

Good luck Flight!
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.
