http://store.duckcommander.com/p-790-cold-blooded-series-gator.aspx Be honest here, which one of you "call collector" guys bought one of these?
I bought a shitty old duck commander call probably 12-14 years ago, probably Phil's original design, at wal mart for something like 12 bucks.

Some of you can blame the Robertson's but I blame the Robertson's on the call collectors. Haha

My god. For that price it should give you a blow job.
I've never liked their calls. The wood duck and teal calls are the only ones worth owning and they sell for $12.00.

I think going underwater with a decoy on your head like Si did would be effective in getting close!

I would never buy any of there shitty calls unless Phil put them together. The only good ones that they ever made were back when Phil did it.

I came across an old call on a local sportsmans group that turned out to be one Phil turned back around 1980. Had never been on a lanyard and actually sounded pretty good. Paid 10.00 for it.

It's definitely a phenom.
No way is a duck call worth $179.
Have an aquaintance that has a high-dollar call that sounds like chit. I want to tune it bad but he insists the only person capable is the man who made it. Duck-call superstitions.
It's just a piece of plastic sitting on a curved piece of wood or plastic. Don't over-complicate it.
The call is no where near as important as the timing of the caller.
Learn how to call and then start buying high-dollar calls. Just buying a $150 Daisy Cutter , XLT or whatever is NOT the answer.
