TLOR fans here?

Are there any? Besides me?
Not pleased with them turning a book that takes me about 5 hours to read into a 3-part, 6-hour movie...(Hobbit)
NOT buying it because by the time they make the other two movies they'll come out with a new purple-ray player or something that makes the first two episodes obsolete.

This actually happened on TLOR. The first two movies were in VHS and the third wasn't.
Having to keep two or three (or more) machines to view a movie series is very clever marketing strategy.

I should just go buy a new set of movies...right?
Truly HATE when the answer to a problem is, "just go buy".
Our society is just set up that way...throw it away and buy another one. Taxes and profits make the world go around and we don't want it stopping so..."just go buy" (whispered).

It goes into more than just what's covered in the hobbit or there and back again. It's an excellent film as are the other 3. Stop being a cheap ass.

I was messaged by the staff when I complained on their FB page...
They said that the movie is long and they dug out bits and pieces from the Appendixes in the Lord of the Rings books...
I get it. Read (past tense) the appendixes. It's about the ancient history of middle earth, Numenor, the origin of the elves, hobbits, and dwarves etc.

The other comment from the staff was that the dwarves almost have no "lines" in the book so they had to "flesh it out".
I understand that as well. Disappointed because it's such a short and sweet story.

Was kind of hoping to find another "fan" to talk hobbit-lore with.

I'm pretty nerdy, for the most part I enjoyed the movie but I do think it's bullshit that they are stretching it out into 3. I could understand 2.

I'm not quite this nerdy though...
