Anybody use one for back pain? Does it really work or is it just marketing bs?

It really works. You won't be anywhere near as stiff. I have some disc/nerve problems in my back and neck, I have one at home and it makes a big difference for me.

My brother has had lower back problems for years. He started using one a few years ago and swears by it.

One day at work I was twisting to stretch/pop my back and had my customer scold me like a pup that whizzed on the carpet. He swears by them also. Was just looking for some more opinions.

I've never cared for them. But then again, I've only tried them about a half dozen times. Just made my head hurt.

The guy I was moving wood with the other day, broke his back in a hang glider accident years ago. He uses his every day and swears by it. He used it after our wreck last week and he said he wasn't even aching the next day.
How ,much does one of those things run?

Might want to quit hanging out with him, sounds like bad luck.
And I saw them on ebay between $100- $180 for most, then some gym quality ones up to several hundred.
Also found a couple local on craigslist for $75 - they all said "brand new" or "used a couple times"

I may be too young for them to have a big effect on me, but I like the leg cuffs to hang by rather than the table.

I bought one about a year ago and absolutely love it. I have sciatica pretty bad at times and have trouble getting out of bed when its acting up. I've literally gotten up numerous times and taken about 3 steps and had to grab the bed before I hit the ground because of the pain. I've had problems with it for several years now, but about this time last year my wife and I decided to go on diets and started walking 4 to 5 miles every night. After several weeks, I decided to start the couch to 5k program to see if I could do that. I already have bad knees from powerlifting and football in my younger days so I tried this program to ease into running. After the first night I felt great. I came home and took a shower and went to bed. When I woke up the next morning, I could barely walk at all. I had to make myself get up and get my shower that morning and suffered the rest of the day. I figured it would last 3 or 4 days and then be over, but it drug out from March to July. Not wanting to go to a chiropractor or Dr., I convinced myself to order the teeter brand inversion table, which was about 300 bucks and give it a try. I had looked at the ones at the local sporting good stores, but they didn't appear very sturdy. I decided that if I was going to be hanging upside down from something, I wanted to make sure it was a good quality table. When it arrived, I had to get my wife and son to help me put it together because I was in too much pain. Once together, I tried it out. At first I wasn't impressed because I actually seemed to be in more pain when I got off the table than before due to the spine re-compressing and putting weight back on the nerve. I forced myself to use this thing at least twice a day and was soon feeling better after a couple of days. Now that everything is much better, I only use it when I start having problems again. I've found if I use it immediately the pain will be gone, for the most part, the next morning. If I'm hardheaded and just don't feel like dragging it out to use it, I will hurt until I finally make myself get on it.
By the way, when I say I love it, Im referring to how it helps my back. I absolutely hate the hanging upside down part. It used to not bother me as a kid, but now I can't stand it. It did take me several times of using it before it quit screwing my equilibrium up and making me feel like I was going to puke when I got off of it though.

My neck pops a lot and I catch myself twisting and contorting to make it pop. One day it's going to POP and hurt like eff.
Maybe I better try one of these things before it's too late.

I just have my oldest daughter walk on my back once a day. Cracks like a bowl of rice crispies.
