11 days here. Not sure if I'm going to get a tag or not since the general tag is only good for eastern and northwestern MT although I am going to be in the eastern part of the state a few days before it opens...

We don't open until 15th this month. There is a juvy hunt the weekend before.

Opens April 22 here.

Took a friend of mine for the first time this past weekend. Had 3 longbeards pitch down and one came within 35 yards. He didn't shoot because he wanted to wait for the other two to come in so me and another guy could shoot. Needless to say, we went home empty handed and he got a stern lecturing. That afternoon he shoots and misses one. Sat and Sun were rained out pretty much. This morning we got on a bird but he had hens, so they did like they always do and pitched down and led him away. I hate hens......

We got a nice big Tom on Saturday, and doubled this morning on a couple of smaller guys.

I acquired a new spot today. I'm meeting the land owner next week.

Yep. By the time I meet him they will probably stop using it but next year it will be a place to go once or twice. And I get paid to scout it.
