So I thought I could take my last destroyed mail box and use it for my temporary box. I got the wrong size pipe yesterday. I exchanged it and headed home. Sure enough the pipe threads fit the old mount. I got the pipe in the ground about a foot and got my sledge.




I used a two by four to protect the old pump head and gave it a swing. It shattered on me. Back to ground zero.

TK, why would you willingly use a pump for that? Those things are hard to find. Did it still have the guts in it/need a new leather? I've been trying to find a decent pitcher pump forever, and I can't find shit.

When I moved in here this was the mailbox the former owner obviously welded together. It was torn up in 2011 and i threw it on the scrap pile. In honor of you and your cheapness, I went with what I had. I don't know why you would want one of these, they don't take a hammer very well. If you lived out here where you rightly belong you could just drive over and get it. Now it stands a chance of being shot to death on my range.

More importantly, I still don't have mail service.

I will never have ground water at my place; its a large limestone ourcrop. Its the same reason we dont have a lot of rabbits here. They can't burrow in.

This one was broke when I got it. Its scrap now.

When I was in college, our mailbox was either in the broken out window in the entryway of our house or on the grill. You could try a cardboard box out at the road with sharpie writing that says "drop mail here" for now.

This thread got me thinking about replacing my crappy mail box bc the door is falling off. So then I was like hey it'd be cool to make my own duck hunting themed mailbox. So I went shopping for decals online and ran across this. A decal for the gay duck hunter.

UPDATE: headed to wallyworld after my DU meeting tonight. They have the magic parts I need to get mail service again. Buy American, shop at Walmart. The job you save may be in China, or Thailand.

You remember my great grandfather with one leg? He had to get special permission to do that bc of his leg. Couldn't get down his steep driveway safely enough and cross the road to his mailbox.

I just got back from K Mart. Bought a "kit" mail box and a can of bright orange flourscent rattle paint. The check out girl wanted to know my DOb for the paint. I asked her if I looked like a tagger, and she STFU and kept on hunting and pecking on the cash register.

They put our driver's license # in a registry here. That can shows up as evidence of vandalism, I guess they come kick your door down.

they use to ask for ID at some places here but not anymore.

I always thought it was for taggers because they cost other people so much money cleaning up their messes. If it was for huffers, they'd have a whole shitload of other stuff on registries, as well.

Remember when everyone thought tags were gang insignia? Then it turned out to be woeful suburban kids looking for attention. Lame.
