Afraid to go look. They're saying primers and powder are scarce. I have a lot of lead and WILL use it if I cant find non-toxic shotshells. Out of primers. Am i seriosly going to have to unload good shells for the primers?
If hunting season comes and I cant get shells...expect me to come beggin. I pray I dont have to shoot "whatever".
Seeing guys bragging about how they have a dozen cases stockpiled...is part of the problem.

Go ahead and blame me then. Some would call me a ammo horder, I like to say I was prepared.

x2...I have determined that I will have a certain baseline of rounds per weapon that I have and anything I buy above that will be used to rotate stock as I use it up during hunting season.

I could have focused more on hunting loads but I still have enough on hand to get me through another duck season. I figure if this shortage is still bad in the 2014 season I'll trade some of my .223 for duck loads.

Are you guys seriously having problems finding duck/goose loads?

^this^ shelves are full of steel loads here. Even most lead shotgun loads on pretty well stocked. It's the small caliber rifle and pistol rounds are really bad.

We have none. There are about 10 boxes of turkey loads, and a few cases of upland/target loads at any given time. I'm actually starting to think I'm going to run out of .35 Remington by fall. I have two boxes, but shoot a lot of deer all summer, and I haven't seen a box of that stuff on the shelves since December. For a relatively obscure, not very popular load, that doesn't bode well for all the others.

They have .32 rounds just about everywhere I've looked. I stocked up on a few boxes anyway just in case I can't find them come deer season.

I can get anything here except the popular pistol rounds and .22.

I know. But a .32 is just a slightly more common round than a .35. I'll have to look next time I'm picking up some ammo. I haven't found a rifle round that was out of stock except the .22 and .223 type rounds.

Last January I was leaving to go back south so I went to the store to get some shotgun shells. They had NOTHING.
NO AMMO AT ALL. I went to Arkansas and the shelves were full of it.
I just don't get it and nobody does but right now, I'm afraid to even go look.
Believe it.
Sigh, I'll get in the truck and go try and buy some .357 magnum pistol ammo.
Will post pictures of shelves.

How badly do you think you are gonna need some? If worse comes to worse, I'm sure I can find some and ship it to you...

If I had to say right now, I suspect I'll be out by the end of summer. I'm hoping they retool some by then.

It appears that they have shotshells but it's the same ammo that was sitting there last January. The shotshells ain't moving?
All they had in steel was them Economy Remington Black shells I hate using.
I'll end up shooting those if I have to unless someone else buys them before me.
They only had 4 boxes of #4 steel, some #2's and #1's. I'll probably end up buying it because there ain't many waterfowl hunters in this area.

All the shot shells you want around here. No .22 or .223, no primers, no powder, no .223 dies except for the day or day after they get it shipped in.

John Stuart Mill. British guy, and one of the first "Libertarians", although that wasn't a term then. I don't think.
