The new guy

Postby Rooster » Thu Jun 28, 2012 12:04 am

Guess I'm the new guy here. Just wanted to introduce myself. Names Chris but everyone calls me rooster. I live in Atoka TN which is about 30 min north of Memphis. Hunt mostly in west tn. I shoot a sbe2 but I always keep my trusty 870 super mag close on those cold cold days.

Usually on the ms river or somewhere close to it. Considering a lease this season though. Maybe Arkansas

I love my hybrid, but the kids are getting to be of an age where they want to go out hunting and fishing more, so I'm going to have to look in to getting a jon. One like that is just what I want. For me, the boat is easy- it's the motor that makes me cringe.

Yup, just like buying a rifle. You buy the rifle and think your done then lots of people put twice as expensive glass on top (note, some people not Assa). Gotta spend the money where it counts.

If you pay shipping you can have my old 1961 Evinrude fastwin 18. If you keep them tuned it's a beast.

Welcome Rooster, anyone Wesite vouches for is automatically okay in my book!
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

What if I throw in 20 dozen used decoys on the deal? You pay shipping of course ;)

I'm running a 'Rude 9.9 and it gets my 14' semi-V around well enough. You can find them for under $1000. Usually you find them attached to boats for $1200 with a trailer.

Wait... what do you think of American Outboard Motors and Salvage (Cordova, MD)? If you've ever even heard of it/been there. Curious what people think of the place. I've gotten some parts from there for my 70's 'Rude a couple times.

I guess it's north of Cambridge, west of Denton (according to Bing maps). My aunt and uncle run the place. It's an outboard salvage yard basically.

Holy crap, that's only about an hour away, if that. I thought I was familiar with all the little burgs and villes around the Eastern Shore, but I guess not.
