When I was down in Arkansas I found several pecan trees. One had a dead limb. Cut it up and hauled it home. Its not as good as hickory for pork but its very good and something different. Have plenty of both in the wood shed. Bought some chips at the store a couple times and decided getting my own is cheaper and I control what size pieces. Looks good jehler. Tell us about the rub u use.

Nice work Eric, my ribs were sub par, grape juice has no place in a mop, lesson learned

A smoker is the one place I'm lost. Been wanting to make one for some time. Just haven't gotten around to doing it.

I hate all of you!
I want nothing more than to start up the grill and cook some meat, but the apartment complex says no grill.
This redneck needs to get back to the country.

A true redneck would set up on the sidewalk in front of the complex...

They don't own that sidewalk! Fire up the grill, and prepare to sue their asses if they try to stop you!

Don't have pics but I had a little party friday night and grilled up a couple pounds of elk backstrap. I'm getting pretty good at it by now
I know this isn't new for anyone on here, but this fall I learned from a friend when processing a critter it is easier to just cut up backstraps into large chunks. Grill the whole chunk and then cut it into smaller steaks after it's done. Really hard to overcook 'em this way. Stays pink and jucy in the middle, just the way I like it

Park your truck on the side of the street and set up the q on the tailgate. If you try to tell me you don't have a truck then you aren't really a redneck.
If you have an excuse about parking streetside, go set up in the Wal-Mart parking lot, invite some friends and call it a tailgate party.

But this is a good idea, if only I knew people here that aren't Yuppies.
