Boxes. Refrigerator and dryer boxes from the appliance store up the road, before the days of recycling. I recycled the hell out of those big boxes. They were spaceships, jails, pirate ships, skyscrapers, you name it.

Never really gave a shit about toys. Always wanted a dirt bike or go kart but we were too poor to afford it. Finally got a 4 wheeler when I was 11. Still have it still ride it and its still my favorite toy.

OK all you Lego freaks. My little brother has a Lego collection. My mom still buys him Lego sets for gifts and he is fitty years old. Often wonder how much she spends...she gives me opened packages of food products she didnt like as gifts...
Do you think she likes him better?

On the bright side, I destroyed everything my brother ever built with Legos until he started glueing then together. Lol. When I was a kid, knocking down my brother's creations was my favorite toy. Beating him up three times a day was my second favorite.
That is what little brothers are good for.

Amazing how much fun a kid could have with just an empty box. And when the box was worn out, they made great targets.
