So, I had to set my son straight

He was a bit confused when he came home from school. His school holds a day of dancing at the end of the year. Each grade performs a different style of dance in a end of the year show for the parents. My daughter is square dancing and my son is doing some other slow dance which requires being paired up. His teacher told them that it's okay to just pick a partner to learn the dance with. Well, my son and every other little kid picked their best friend, likely of the same sex. Now, it's some kind of waltzz or some crap where they're dancing as a couple. Now, I know that maybe the boy girl ratio might be messed up and make some same sex pairs but i told my son to find a girl. He was confused and shocked that I thought that a boy should dance with a girl. Here, I'm thinking, what is wrong with this world when traditions like dancing with the opposite sex are being cast aside? I explained everything from how a man leads a woman in a dance and why a boy should dance with a girl. Well, I got a bit of criticism from a friend, saying I should have let him dance with whoever and he's just in kindergarten.

I feel your pain. I absolutely despise what the public school system has become. It's not inappropriate for a boy to slow dance with a boy, but it is inappropriate for girls to flip a dress up in play. Hypocrisy.
As for the dance thing, they do the EXACT same thing here. I don't get it. Last year at my daughters kindergarten assembly, there were boys dancing with boys and girls dancing with girls, same deal- some sort of waltz. At least this year in first grade it was Irish river dance nonsense. By all means, let them dance and "express" themselves. But whatever you do, don't give them a fundamental reading and writing education. Dumb asses.

Almost a guaranteed outcome.
I'm going to start my own private school. I don't know what it's going to be called yet, but the marketing scheme will center around "We will raise your kid to be a smart leader of men, not a pansy-ass sheep concerned only with feelings". Or maybe "Want your kid to be better than 95% of the population? Send them to school here."

First 10 students are free, and will be considered stakeholders in the enterprise. They will, however, have to earn additional credits by tending a garden, feeding livestock, and cleaning and putting up deer. Now that I think about it, I should just call the school "Walnut Grove Preparatory Academy".
Don, are you going to talk to the school, or did your son decide he wasn't going to dance with another boy?

If he were not in kindergarten I could see your gripe.
All of us at that age thought the other sex had cooties.
What I do have a problem with is requiring a dance for every child in every grade.
When I was that age, we had a Christmas Chorus and that was it.
The liberal agenda to get our next generation sissified and gay a-okay mentality, really pisses me off.
It is not a-okay, it is against science and religion, and should be handled with care and scrutiny.
It certainly should not be introduced to a 5 or 6 year old.
Until you told your son, unless the teacher had already, he had no idea.
But I'm not trying to tell you how to raise your children, I have no experience in that. I was just making an observation.

He's not dancing with a boy. The confusion ended when I asked his Uncle Luech iff he would like to dance with boys and if he would like a picture of him dancing with boys when he was young. He's 18 and one of Jake's idols and when he said 'Heck No!' That was all Jake needed to hear.
I'm not going to call the school. I planted the seed I needed to. What other people tell their kids is on them.,

Good. Unfortunately, you are probably now going to have to deal with the note home chastising him for saying "dancing with other boys is gross". If I were you, I'd have fun with that one.

That would be a terrible mistake on their part. What i choose to teach and how I influence my son is none of their business I'll make somebody's life hell for that.

Truth. Although the "phobe" implies fear. If I could figure out what the suffix for "dislike" is, that would be more applicable.
