My dad won't give me the titles to the boat and trailer he sold me last fall.
The trailer registration is expired and the boat will be at the end of next month.
Grrrrr. He said he'd find the titles and bring them to me.
Now he's making up excuses as to why he shouldn't.

I guess I'm fucked fucked fucked.

Write up a bill of sale for both and go transfer them, you don't need a title for a 14'er surely?

I didn't have titles on my boat. I used the bill of sale to get them. Surely you got a bill of sale.

I think his dad gave them to him, so no bill of sale. I'd go with the other approach- take it out, pull the gas cap off, full it up with used motor oil, and sink it. He'll foot the bill.

His Dad sounds like a swell guy.

I would go with "hey asshole, you are now invisable until you learn how to treat me."

This may require no contact for a few (years)....

It takes a good sized set of nuts to do that.

After a couple of years my dad decided I would hold out for ever, and I won. WE are good now. When you are offered conditional love, sometimes you have to change the conditions.

Try it Acorn. You will be surprised at how less complicated your life is when you are not letting others add to your problems.

Sigh. It just got really crappy on my end.
I want to do exactly what you said and cut contact but there is a little tiny boy named Logan. My mom wants to see him really bad and my dad is playing "hurt feelings" games.

I sent the wife and Logan into the lion's den without me because my presence escalates things to a whole new level.
I told Mary, "If he starts picking at you, there are hurt feelings reports in my console of the truck. GIVE HIM TWO!"

I just want the titles.

P.S. I post this story to give y'all an idea of what it's like to have manipulative and controlling parents who can do NO WRONG. It's painful. Sorry about the dirty laundry. We're friends, we share things. lol
Fuck 'em!

P.S. In some states you have to title the motor as well.

Manipulation takes on many forms.

Are you really doing Logan a favor?

COMPLETE sever of ties. You are allowing the kid to be used against you

They can only do that because you still talk to them.

Yep. My mom has seen her grand kids once since 2008. And I don't feel even a little bad about it.

He made a 15-minute appearance in hopes of calming the beast. They have only seen Logan once when he was in intensive care, all tubes and wires.

I would want to see my great-grandson too if I had one. NOBODY deserves to be shunned completely.
Understanding and forgiveness is what the Bible teaches. I'm trying.
I simply can't deny them the opportunity to see Logan but no way are they having any 1 on 1 time alone. NO WAY!

I have TOTAL control when it comes to the boy. My daughter, his mama, is all about that. She wants me to teach him hunting, fishing, and the works. He will be fine. I promise.

I just want to take him fishing in the boat with the dog n stuff. DUHHHH.

Sorry, I can't have a serious game-ending convo about this issue. It's madness.
Dealt with one day at a time.
This weekend has been rough. Pacing around waiting to get a truck-load of crap dumped onto me. I thought I was getting titles, not this. (I had a bad feeling and was right, again)

Someone said when they pass I'll feel relieved, then guitly about being relieved. True, so true. I already feel it.

Hehe, you been payin' attention haven't you?

I don't know. There are several viable theories. I think the "can't find them in their hoard" scenario is close to the truth.

Get this. My dad already paid the trailer registration and has the sticker. He has so many trailers he just paid 'em all.

I also like AT's sink the boat and let him pay to recover it idea. WAY ahead of ya there buddy.
How am I going to explain that the trailer is attached to a sunken boat?
I know...weed. It was the "WEED".

I'm KEEPING the motor.
Not sure what I'll do with the rest.
Cut it up for scrap I guess.
Sure glad I didn't pay to get the cracks repaired.

I'm fittin' ta get stoned an forget this crap for a minute.
For Rebelp...

That sucks Betty. My grandfather gave me a trailer. Only thing he left me. When he passed, my grandmother threw a fit and I had to bring it back. I still have it registered in my name. I'll probably have to fight my uncle for it, but that will just be entertainment. The man has no balls.

I dunno what I'm gunna do. I think "nothing" is the best possible thing. Let the parents stew on what they're doing to me.

I apologize to everyone for airing my dirty laundry.

It's the only way I can deal with it. Can't get it out of my head. It helps to talk about it.
Like a rape-victim I keep going thru the scenarios asking myself, "what did I do wrong".
What I did wrong was trusting a two-headed snake.

Flight Control...my grandfather left me his entire estate but by the time I got there my aunt Brenda and her husband Tom had hauled it all away to their place in Indy. All I got were his old boots because they were too small for Tom.
They got theirs...a few yrs later United Airlines went belly up. Brenda and Tom lost everything they had because they had it all invested in UAL. Karma's a bich.

The boat and trailer titles exist. Wow...
My dad seems to thinks its gunna take a family meeting to transfer them.
I was manipulated into doing a really crappy job to get the boat into my possession.
I am quite sure that an attempt at further manipulation is imminent.
Will park it in a tow-away zone in July if I dont have stickers yet.
