Knives

Any one else here have a thing for knives? I've been collecting them since I was probably 8. Here are a few.

I have more but there in Manteo. I'll post a picture of them when I get down there this weekend.

Nope, I like to have a sharp knife on me all the time, but I don't like them like that.

I loose them, all of them. I had one for about 2 years, lost it for a year then found it 2 weeks ago. Went fishing the day after I found it. It was clipped in my pocket, I was on the bow. First time I threw the cast net the rope caught the knife and it plunked right in the water. I saw it splash and said Mother FU##*#&#$&#* He Gone!

Ha! I found my old yellow case trapper laying in insulation in my attic this last weekend. The damn thing disappeared a year ago. I obviously dropped it last time I was crawling round up there

I've got a few. Wouldn't really call it collecting but more accumulation.

A man can not possibly have too many guns, boats, knives, decoys, tools, flashlights, and quite a few things like that.

I have a few Buck knives. I also have a Gerber multi-tool I been carrying in my bag for about twenty years. It has saved the day several times. Get one of them leatherman tools or something like that OB. You'll love it.

I have a major hard on for nice knives, especially ones made in MI.

Just ordered a BRKT bird and trout knife this morning.

What is BRKT? Is it a spinoff from CRKT?

Oh forgot to mention the one on the top right(shiny blade) is a knife I made in a art class several years ago.

Bark River Knife & Tool.
http://www.barkriverknifetool.com/

When Marbles decided to start sourcing their steel from China/Pakistan/Buttholesville a bunch of their master knife makers walked out and started their own shops.

Rapid River Knife and Hess Knifeworks are a couple others.

If a knife has a hole for a cord or string. Put it on.
The person who designed the knife put it there on purpose.
Look at a utility knife. It has a hole to tie a cord to. That way when you grab it out of the carpenter pocket in your carpenter pants it is easy. Ever notice how a utility knife fits perfectly in that little side pocket?

I have never put anything even remotely carpenter related in the pocket on a pair of carpenter pants  If I'm working, I'm wearing my bags. I learned long ago that every time I try to do some "little thing" involving one or two of the things out of them, I end up with ALL the shit out of them strewn everywhere. So I just put them on in the first place. Saves time and aggravation.

On the topic of knives, if I didn't constantly watch myself, I would more than likely have piles of them as well. Few things are as "nice" and useful as a well-made knife. Or even a poorly made practical knife. I carried one of the yellow delrin Case trappers for a long time, but switched about two years ago to a clip knife. Best thing ever. Got completely tired of my old knife falling out of my pocket, and the clip knife is about 17 million times easier to open.
