Why does it say 40% and 100 proof? Which one is it?

Edit: never mind I just looked closer and it says (80 proof) looked like 100 on my phone.

PS: I love rye

Someone supply a bottle and I'll use my hydrometer to see what the ABV is. It can't be both unless the top half is 80 proof and the bottom is 100.

I just edited my post. I would however like to test the proof if I could get a bottle.

I looked at several sites and it says 40% abv (100 proof) on the bottles.
They must be detarded.Or...maybe they are european, same thing.

Alcohol proof is a measure of how much alcohol (ethanol) is contained in an alcoholic beverage. The term was originally used in the United Kingdom and was defined as 7/4 times the alcohol by volume (ABV). The UK now uses the ABV standard instead of alcohol proof. In the United States, alcoholic proof is defined as twice the percentage of ABV.
The measurement of alcohol content and the statement of this content on the bottle labels of alcoholic beverages is regulated by law in the United States. The purpose of the regulation is to provide pertinent information to the consumer.

Always thought the proof and percentage were two different measurements?

Same here. I always thought proof was strength of the alcohol and % was amount of alcohol per whatever.

Nope. One's a measure of the other. 100 proof will always be 50% alcohol, 80 proof will always be 40% alcohol, and so on.

Right, guess I should have said two different ways of writing the same thing.

Sweet or Italian? I got both in the garden. ;)

Friar Tucks has that Rye for $37.99/bottle. I assume she meant the 750 ml size.
Lazy bitch wanted me off her phone asap. Probably playing on her phone at work.

Depends on how much you like whiskey. It is one of the few I enjoy with nothing but ice, smooth going down, then the light burn. I rarely buy cause of it's price though.

I like to sip and smoke. Cigars and Bourbon. Only on rare occasions when I have time to sit for a couple hours.
Can appreciate a good whiskey.
Will try some.
A bottle of really good whiskey lasts me for years.
I have an old, old bottle I found in my grandfather's garage. So old the label fell off.
Every once in a while I'll sip on that and think about him.

I live in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Home of The University of Illinois.
You can bet your sweet ass we're over-taxed by the city, county, and state.
The U of I raises it's tuition at a rate about 5 times that of inflation.
They think they are selling booze to rich-assed Asian college kids. (they're right)
I just happen to live here. Wanna see a gas station price? :?

This is the weird part. Hard liquor is HIGHER in Arkansas?
