I can accept that... but where is the iron and why does it have a claw on the front? What are the spikes for?

Sent from my phone.

The front is decorative. The spikes were to help hold the iron in place (somewhere to attach it/add stability). The iron portion was lost when the titanic went down.

A lot of people guessed that until a carpet layer pointed out that the pins or spikes should be angled to work right. It is not a carpet laying tool.
It's not an iron handle but damn that was a good guess.
I don't know what it is so maybe it IS an iron handle. I just don't think it is.

Look at antique irons. Ebay has many. None look even remotely look like this thing would work as a handle.

My brain clicked a little and spit out an idea.
Is it possible that this tool is for handling HAY BALES that are bailed with wire?
I have had one of these in my hand before and I'm pretty sure that is why.

Its very hard to read quotes of quotes of qoutes and comprehend sometimes.
That other site has it so you can do nine nested quotes. My eyes are weak and red. Squinty. Gimmee a break.

I have never seen or heard of one of those being used to move hay. Looks like a badass nail puller to me.
