You might have missed the other hen in the woods. They'll gang up at bugging spots, sort of like moms drawn to the playground.

That's right. It was two hens with their broods. Looked to be about 18-20 chicks total.
We had a lot of rain this week, and I was concerned that some may have drowned, but they look good.

I've had a hen nesting in the back field. See her everynight, she walks up into the yard pecking bugs by the dog pen. Still waiting to see the chicks.

The boys were out this afternoon.
They were in the yard when I got home. They hauled ass for the woods when the garage door started going up, but they came back out in about a half hour.
It was raining so the pics aren't quite as good as yesterday's, but it's two mature toms and three jakes.
They don't seem bothered by the house at all. At times, they were well within shotgun range.
