Updates 06JUL2013

Recent changes
All of you will notice over the next few days that you'll see banner advertisements near the top of the page (it takes a few days for them to start showing up).
Over this past year with the exception of about 20 members I have funded WFF alone. Over the past few months I have given a lot of thought to this (as many of you have suggested) and have decided to move forward with running paid advertisements on WFF. The ads will be a mixture of Google Adsense and individual waterfowl and outdoor business banners.
Most of you know that I'm very apprehensive about turning WFF into a commercial forum, we have a unique atmosphere here and I would like to remind everyone that I intend to continue running WFF with the same attitude as I have been over the past year. The addition of ads will only better serve our growth!
Addressing Supporters
Over the past year a handful of you have donated financially to WFF in an effort to take a bit of the operating cost off my shoulders and that has been a really great gesture. Remembering this I am implementing a new kind of supporter program. Starting 01JAN2014 any member who donates a set $20 will have all ads on WFF turned off for their account and receive the traditional “supporter” rank under their user-name for one year. Anyone that is already a supporter will be rolled over and given a year of ad free WFF for the remainder of 2013 and the entirety of 2014.
Thank you to everyone that gave in 2012 and 2013, your donations totaled over $300 and helped greatly.
Anyone who wishes to donate and receive ad free WFF may still do so.
Dirty Ducks Forum
The “Dirty Ducks” forum will be ad free to comply with Google's terms and agreements and to promote a friendly advertising atmosphere for potential customers. Enjoy.
Addition to the forum rules
Members are no longer allowed to have links in their signatures that are commercial in nature. (Unless you are a WFF partner)
Personal blogs and sites that are non commercial in nature are still permitted. If you're unsure if your link fits this category contact myself or any moderator and ask.
Spread the word
If any members here has ties with any waterfowl or outdoor related businesses let them know of the new advertising opportunity here at WFF and to contact me at oliver@waterfowlforum.net if they're interested. Also if anyone here works in the outdoor industry and would like to help WFF by working as a ad agent please contact me.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this announcement and for continuing to make WaterfowlForum.Net the best up and coming waterfowl discussion forum on the Internet. As we move into the future with the addition of ad based revenue being pumped back into the forum, I hope I can implement many exciting ideas for WFF and it's members!
