Roughing in an under floor today and we saw a few slicks. The one casually walked between the foundation I was standing on and the running dozer at 20 yards.

I operate heavy equipment, it is not uncommon for deer, fox, and even coyotes to walk up and stare at you. They actually get in the way quite often. Nothing beats stirring up a den of rattlesnakes or any snakes and smashing them with the track hoe bucket though!

Nope. Thats my day job. If I had it my way I'd do all new construction and nothing else.

I am. We were putting the duct work in under the house before they deck. Its a lot faster to jump in/out through the BCIs rather than crawl it all in.

We built the same model house for years. Built 100 of em. After I had to crawl under the house to dig under the footing for the water main once...I started doing it first. My boss asked me what the fuck I was doing. I said the next time you send me in a crawl space with a tile spade will be the last, my way is way better. He smiled and gave me a $1/Hour raise.

Something about the smell of freshly tilled or dug up earth attracts wildlife. Want to kill geese? Scrape a field. Works like bait.
