Where I hunt it is customary to take the "truckload of bloody snowgeese" photos in Walmart's parking lot.

you'd probably win the golden eye eating contest beef. This was the first time I'd ever shot one since there wasn't anything else flying. Fun as shit but I need to find a better way to cook them....and that "shelf ice" can barely be considered shelf Ice.

Cook them like I cook bufflehead. Breast them out, and save them up in the freezer until you get enough to cover about 3/4 of a baking dish. Then dice up a bunch of apples, about the size of dice. (end up with about 2 cups) Mix with a big handful of raisins. Sprinkle some cinnamon and salt over it, and mix it up. Then put it in the dish, and layer the breasts on top. Add about 1 1/2 cups of chicken stock. Cover it very tightly with foil, and bake at 325 for about 15 minutes. Then take it out, and mix it up, covering the breasts with the apples mixture, cover tightly again, then finish baking. The time really depends on the meat, so I don't want to say a specific time. With buffies, I usually have about 35 minutes total time. Take the breasts out, and I usually throw away the apple mixture, but will save a little bit and throw it in the food processor and use it as a sauce. Pretty darn good, actually.
Do NOT try mixing species with this. Maybe it was a fluke, but I did it with buffies and woodies once, and it was absolutely horrible. So I don't do it anymore, I just save them up until I have enough of one kind.

I'll try that assa. Otherwise I'll be eating a lot of chili towards the end of this season.

It's very, very good. You just have to be super careful not to overcook them this way, since you can't see them. Make sure the foil is on there good- you don't want any steam/moisture to get out.
