I own a couple cast iron cooking utensils. Have a wash kettle and a couple dutch ovens. I make peach or apple cobbler the old school way where you dig a hole and fill it with coals. Did a dutch oven cooking demonstration for a whole weekend in boy scouts in 1974.

OP. Your pics work. They are good.

Now I gotta get a bigger one. 14" would be sweet for pizza.
I have a coleman oven as well. Skillet biscuits in there are pretty good.

That shit will not cook in 15 minutes. You need to adjust your beer clock...

When I make cobbler the oven gets buried in a hole. Fill hole with coals from a wood fire, put oven in, then more coals. Go take a hike. When u get back its done.

we need to clarify. with a deep dutch you can probably let it go longer, with a bread oven, you run the risk of burning the cake mix/biscuits on top if you let it go too long.

Used pie crust and canned pie filling. Cheating but its camping, right?
