I enjoy it for some reason, why I put a bid in for this 2.1 mile job.

This fence strung by rex muther-fucking chapman.

While we're bs'ing am on my way towards harvesting the honey crop. So far got around 600 pounds. Could make it to a ton this year if I'd just get out and get it off the hives. Imagine that...buying a new duck-rig with the honey money could easily happen.
Each one of them frames holds about a quart. Twenty bucks a pop. Adds up pretty quick when there's ten to a box and thirty of forty boxes. :)

Just drove thru a fight tween two black lassies brawling in the street. Awesome.
They had to get up or get run over. It's sunset and the glare is wicked.
Then they stood up and simultaneously each grabbed hair with one hand and punching with the other. (double duke-out)
It was un-beweevable. Hair flying everywhere.

The guys in houseboat cove are going to shit when they see this thing in their spot 4 days prior to the opener.
They camp in their boat to hold a spot so why not do it in style?

It's harvest time.
Tomatoes on the ripening table and honey in the buckets.
That's only about 1/3 of the tomatoes and about 1/2 of the honey crop.
Been a pretty good year. The honey is thick and dry this season. Only about 16% moisture content when the usual is about 18 or 18.5%. It's gooey. Oops. There are 4 full buckets not in the picture. I think I could fill a 55-gallon drum if I was fool enough to put it all in one container.

A little bee math. 55 times $70 is enough to buy a bigger jon boat I think.

The harvest just keeps on keeping on this year.
So burnt out on tomatoes, potatoes, peaches, and all the other stuff.
Today I'm putting some comb honey in boxes after it drains. Only made a handful of comb honey frames because nobody buys the stuff but THEY WILL TAKE IT as gifts.

This went on outside my window for about an hour yesterday. It was so funny and so cute. Hard to catch on video, but I think this shows it pretty good. One little gal would come up to the feeder and the other would zip in on the attack. Over and over.

Very territorial.

Every year I have one female hummingbird that comes all the time and very rarely see any others. This seemed odd because I know there are a lot of hummingbirds in the area and everywhere else I've hung a feeder I've gotten many coming.

What I learned is they are very territorial and since there is no flowers or anything else anywhere close for the hummingbirds to feed on, one female moves in and runs everybody else out and they move on to less green pastures Image I guess this second female decided she isn't going so easy.

We get the same thing going on here with the hummingbirds.
I keep trying to inform the wife that she needs to put up all the feeders not just one.
Have bought her at least half a dozen of them and she wants to pick one and keep it filled.
Have told her a half dozen times that if she wants a flock of hummingbirds you have to have a flock of feeders for them to defend.

Maybe she'll get it if I do it first but the females are territorial about these things. (both human and avian)

I really enjoy watching hummingbirds. That's my office at work. I love the reactions of coworkers when they are in my office and they catch the hummingbird out of the corner of their eye. I'm surprised how many people don't realize they are a pretty common bird.

Most people really don't like birds. They shit on your car.
Bugs...they all gotta die!

What people don't get is how the birds eat the bugs and we eat the birds. Tasty tasty birds.

Don't forget squirrels.

I have a deep dislike of squirrels raiding my bird feeder. If I could get away without getting fired, I'd be having squirrel for dinner quite frequently. They are tasty and fun to hunt, but damn pigs when it comes to eating bird seed.

I always get amused when my coworkers tip toe around the geese. I never break stride. They will move.

I needed a canoe rack for my 2004 Yukon Denali as waterfowl season is coming. They want a lot of $$ for new ones if I can even find one to fit. I decided that a $350 roof rack setup was more than I wanted to spend. After some looking I ended up buying a pair of Thule 56" load bars from a craigslist ad for $40. I found a complete Thule rack setup from a 1995 Subaru with bars way too short for my rig but mounts that fit my factory rack fine at a yard sale for $30. The load bars in the complete set were slotted to allow the mounts to slide back and forth for adjustment. I used my die grinder to slot the long bars 2" longer than the slots in the short bars in order to fit the factory rack. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the bars I slotted. Needless to say my slots were not nearly as pretty as the original but worked perfectly well!

Everything went together and fit the truck perfectly. My only issue is the tightening knobs to tighten the clamps weren't quite long enough with the longer slots. I ordered some key stock from McMaster and once that gets here I will weld a handle on it and use that to snug everything up good and tight. Total cost $70 plus $3 to McMaster Carr.
I love to make something work and save money in the bargain.

Hauled a canoe up and down the Denali (Yukon) highway all summer back in the 70's. Canoe rack?
You mean the carpeted 4x4's and the rope?
The rope was multi-purpose rope. Could tie the canoe to a tree by the river or onto the truck. (it was a Ford)

Was having my morning Tiger Mart coffee when "little Sarah," a sweet little gal who works there, found out she'd won $2,000,000 on last night's Powerball draw. Hope she hangs onto most of it and stays as happy as she was this morning.

I have two bills in my wallet. One is 100,000 and the other is only 10,000.
Woo wee I'm loaded.
It's fun to show one to a bartender and say that I'm rich but for some reason they're not very impressed with play money.

Great for her. The sad reality is that most people that win these things is because they are bad with money and spend a lot on these things.

$2M after taxes is not live large for the rest of your life money. I hope she goes to a financial planner and spends a grand to really understand where she is at financially before she gets 10 years down the road and realizes she burned through it without realizing it.

That's life changing money, but not enough you can be stupid. I hope she makes the most of it.

Wife and I were talking about what we'd do if we had lotto money.
Sort of ironic but we both said the same thing at once. (invest in the old farm house then build it into a bed and breakfast) Two million would do it up nicely with a ton of spare change.
Now I gotta call and ask if she won. :)

While debbie wasserman shultz still resides in this realm, while visiting with hillary, a house narrowly escaped landing on shultz but unfortunately did so on clinton. With general confusion abounding until the dust settled, authorities had difficulty determining which witch was which.
