Swamp likes playing this game. I know what it is but not sure what its called. I know what it does and every duckhunter should learn about these things. Jehler will know right away I bet.

There is a dog that goes in the grooves. When I work the lever, the dog slides this thing back and forth on the shaft and them cams lock into a gear. One gear spins one direction and the other the opposite. Thos gears are geared to the engine shaft.
Depending on which of two gears the cam locks into...you get forward or reverse.
It is for a boat motor.

I actually knew because I had that put on my outboard when I changed the lower unit oil. I think I may have that on wrong though which is causing my motor to have a very bad chug at random under full throttle

No, I have my own junkyard of dead ones. I really do hunt ducks. Duckhunters tear up stuff.
