Yeah. I noticed the same thing. Definitely a lesson learned on my part. I have picked up snakes that I've killed while they're still writhing. I don't think I'll do that anymore.

I thought the same thing. I would think it would need its brain to feel but it sure seemed to know what was going on.

yes, i killed a rattler yesterday in fact. ended up catching it and killing it because my boss's dog was running around and i didn't want it to get bit, otherwise i would have just tossed it in the brush. after i cut off the head i was explaining to my coworker that you have to get rid of the head or it can still bite and inject, and just as i said it, the damn thing tried to bite me. the guy has faced off with a grizzly but hates snakes, go figure.
