Decisions decisions

Going bear hunting in two weeks and I still haven't decided what gun to use. We hunt with dogs so most are in trees. We head shoot all of them so it really doesn't take that much gun. I shot one with my 7mm-08 rifle and one with my 7x30 waters contender. I'm thinking about borrowing a friends .50 Beowulf this year. What do you guys think?

Use the Bowmag J. You don't even have to skin after the shot and most of the hide is tanned.

12 guage with a 2-3/4", 1-1/4oz. slug. Most of ours bay on the ground and it's a less than 5-10 yard shot 90% of the time.

One of the only times I'm ever going to say this but bowmag for the win. It would be epic.

You had a space after the "=" sign so no "embededation" occurred. New word for today.

Ok, fuck the bowmag it wouldnt and you'd probably get mauled by a pissed if bear. The ballistics on it would never work. Jgun you would be better off using a .17. It is the perfect all around load. From mallards to elephants it will get the job done.

Better AK?

Not really because using a .17, like Red said, is just stupid and overkill at the same time.

while I've never seen his ass, if it has as much hair as the rest of him he could climb the tree and the bear would welcome him as reinforcement.

I'm not particularly scared of bears, but I would need more space than a knife will allow. Not even sure how you do it with a hog. Jump on it's back and slit the throat?
