Another Hunter

I was tilling up some of the garden, getting ready for cabbage and broccoli, and I see Layniebug furiously running around like a chicken in what I had already tilled. So I stop and watch. She misses a couple times, then comes up with a field mouse, which she spins by the tail and slings into the ground. Then she picks it up, walks over and tells me "Don't worry, daddy, I got em". I think technically its her first kill. Couldn't be prouder.

That's great. Thought this was going to be bug finding an arrowhead in your garden patch, but this was better.

1) you need to taxidermize that!
2) you need to write a book on parenting, because you're doing it right
and i'm serious on both.

Lol, great visual there! Very instinctive hunter she is, I'm not so sure I have it in me to grab one of the little bastards, she ever seen their little chompers before she grabbed ahold of one?

Yep. Whenever a barn cat or the house cat leaves a mouse present (for some reason they only leave the face), she's the one to bring it to us. She's not scared. Yet. She watches that damn turtle man and river monsters non-stop.

I'd be one proud papa if one of my girls did that. I think it's time for the bug to get a bb gun.

On another note: do you plant cabbage and broccoli from seed now? What else do you plant now?

No, they were started about 30 days ago. I planted about 4 inch tall plants. I'm not sure of any winter crop you can sow seed for, now. Not saying there aren't any, but I don't know what they are.
I always plant cabbage this time of year, and then broccoli, Brussels sprouts, or lettuce as well.
