What's left to get ready for this season.

Rewired most of my boat yesterday and it is now ready to go. Rigged and rerigged a couple dozen decoys today. Another dozen to go. Build a bench in one of the blinds and I am ready...........I think?

Rig a dozen decoys. Possibly more if a CL guy every responds again...
Create a make-shift, one time use gang rig for week 2.
Get the cold weather camping gear together - It's going to be cold on Friday night...
Brush up the layout blind (Still have a few weeks)

I think that's all that I have left to do...I lost one of my ankle straps, and one of my decoy gloves at the end of last season. I could make time to find them in the garage mess, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Getting close boys

I need to get the blind boat out and run it to make sure all is good and add some brush to it. Get a couple more dozen decoys rigged. They just got the crops out of a new field we have and we got some guys coming in to dig part of the back out and put a levy in it. So we will have to rush to try and get it complete.

Our group is closing on a new to us house this week. Have to move everything out of the old place into the new joint Saturday. Also have three blinds to bush, with one being a total rebuild.
Touch up paint on some decoys, flip the switch to turn the pump on and fill the impoundments and should be good to go.

Re-rig my longlines and pour a few more anchors. I also need to make a few more lead bricks for the layout boat. I need 150# in there with me to get it to sit low enough. Damn thing could almost count as a sinkbox.

Brush up 2 more blinds, clear the log jam that has built up around the area of one of those, and get some shells.

I've gotta make some shames to the blind on my boat, get some blind material (haven't decided what I'm gonna get), touch up the paint on some goose deeks then get some shells.

Starting today the Mrs and I are having a two day long sex fest. That should get me through to late November

Finished painting the last of the decoys yesterday. Now it's just a matter of putting them out and brushing blinds.

Went out with a friend today to brush a couple of blinds and to build the bench and cocktail table in our newest blind. While driving around looking for ducks and drinking beer we found a dead steer in one of the back lakes. Turned the event into the Aransas Bay Texas Longhorn Chainsaw Massacre.

Had a couple of friends come over to rig the last of the decoys and one of the guys brought his new/used Benelli Nova pump gun out to show it off. Pretty slick but not quite as good looking as my SBE.
