pumpkin seeds

Postby aunt betty » Mon Oct 28, 2013 7:29 pm

Made some Sunday.
Salted them with coarse salt then baked at 325 for 15 minutes then cranked it to 450 for two more minutes.
Best I ever made.
Anyone else use different seasonings or something? Have lots of pumpkins.
Its that time of year.

I like em with Cajun season or a little BBQ rub. Just made some plain salt ones last week.

I've always found them to be chewy/stringy as heck. Am I doing something wrong?

I used garlic salt on a batch I made this weekend, also used a sort of Lawrys season salt, both turned out legit!

I love fried pumpkin seeds. Good stuff and always fun this time of year.

Wow. I hesitated to start this thread and am glad I did now.
Garlic salt mixed with seasoned salt sounds good on them.

My favorite is to rub them with olive oil, black pepper, a little onion and garlic powder and then bake them like you did Betty

You probably mislabeled a bag of maple seeds or something. Make sure they are pumkin.
