Well I was waiting to see what Matthews brought out this year and they introduced the creed xs. They've been basically rebranding a Heli-m for the past two years. Pretty big let down. So I took a look at what Hoyt brought out. These boys are dirty, dirty.

Have you priced long/recurves lately? You can get a decent compound for about the same. Parallel limbs are outrageously priced though.

Just wondered why a guy would get a new bow during deer season.
I suppose it could be replacing a broken one or something but its doc...nevermind.

I've always wondered that too. Or buying a new bow every year and selling it at the end of the season. Don't understand why you wouldn't pick one and get comfortable with it.

There's not many compounds less than 400 but there are a few. Bear recurves range from 390-680, that was what I was thinking of when I think of traditional.

give your definition of accuracy.

you need your reticle for accuracy, i think most recurve shooters do it without one.

i'm the opposite, i can't shoot compounds worth a damn. in fact, i'm a danger to myself and others around me with one :lol:

that said, i've never shot one that actually fit me.

I've never been to a bow shop and got one fitted to me. I've been able to shoot every compound I've ever handled with pretty good consistency, including my brothers left handed Hoyt. That was quite an experience though. :lol:

isn't that the name of the game. Be as accurate and ethical as possible? Not saying you need a brand new bow every year but why not want something that an average person can shoot pretty Damn well? I could give a shit what somebody shoots as long as they can make a good kill.

sure ya can. But you can also spend as much for a little rod and reel as you would for a Matthews

isn't the bowhunting mentality the epitome of traditional hunting? shouldn't a bowhunter have developed the discipline to take ethical shots, or should he just adopt technology to kill anything?

if it's the latter, he should just use a gun, or a fucking laser beam bow.
