Cool but what is that pink stick thing?

Sounds like how my Saturday went Ron. Thought I had a plan that was gonna slaughter em, and me and the kid killed 1 gad. I don't get it. It was raining and the wind was blowing 20, it looked like a waterfowling post card, but missing the waterfowl.

Still not a bad day though. Wish we got wigeons in color up here.

Shot 2 plumed drakes in all my years. They were all over in MT, little color though. Never heard about your hunt yesterday, how was it?

That's good for a slow day Ron.

It seems like for me opening weekend is always a little slow. My last two years my best hunt of the season came on the 2nd weekend. We need a big cold front to push more birds down this way. I'm seeing a lot of redheads but the pintails haven't showed up in the huge numbers I'm used to. Its probably all the rain we got has them scattered and the kite surfers have scared them away from my favorite cove.

BTW-Ron-E,

I'm going to be leaving South Texas in Late December and moving to Austin so I'll probably be spending most of my coastal hunting around Rockport. My good buddy keeps his sailboat in Rockport and he's given me the keys so I'll have a place to stay when I come down and hunt. Did you hear about the guy getting attacked by a gator? I had one chase me out of St. Johns bay while wade fishing with a stringer of reds.
