Kinda long, but an interview with Captain Dudley Paquette, Captain of the Wilfred Sykes - the ship that was loading on the opposite dock and left port 3 hours after the Edmund Fitzgerald left on her fateful trip. He followed a different course than the Fitz and the Arthur Anderson, but monitored their progress across Lake Superior during the storm.

It's that time of the year again. If you are near the White Fish light house turn your truck radio to the lower AM band and you will hear bleed over from the local HAM club re-broadcasting the last radio transmissions from the EF.

Love that song. When you finally realize your going into the water has got to be a crazy time.

One of the things I miss about Michigan, could listen to that song about 40 times on any given radio station, never gets old.

Because your boat blind could catch a wind gust and sink of course.

But I don't hunt out of a hard sided boat blind. Or even a boat!

My wife and I did request it from a lounge singer on a cruise years ago. Maybe we caused all these cruise ship mishaps!

I requested it while on a cruise ship and the guy sang it! Then, I walked under a ladder and broke a mirror on a black cat crossing my path. I am fine with it.

Ha ha - I put it on just before we hop out at the staging area to prep the boat in the mornings.
I usually turn it up and leave the doors open for the benefit of the others launching at the same time.
