Same deer?

Postby bill herian » Mon Nov 11, 2013 3:34 pm

Very straightforward question, don't try to read into it.

Is this the same deer in these two photographs?

These are the only two photos of them. Other ones had his head down.

I don't see a damn thing in the second pic. What are you trying to pull?

I'm answering my own question.

Different deer.

Look at the angle at the end of the right main beam in each picture.

Second deer looks wider.

No. The racks are different on the left side. First one is symmetric and the second is not.

100% a different deer.

Either the deer in the second pic has a weak left side, or he broke something off. Even funny lighting wouldn't make both the G2 and G3 disappear if it was the same buck.

Looks like I'm actually going to carry the rifle this year.

Yea, but I didn't draw. This is the second year they are having a season. They upped to quota to stick it to the indians for burning all their tags. :P

Heard from a reliable source that last year none of the 117 wolves killed were collared or chipped.

Never heard a reliable report of someone getting busted with a chipped wolf either. Propagandist DNR.

i've never heard anything on chipping wolves or anything else, other than fish, i assume they would do it because people want the collars.

out here they're finding the collar info is biased because people shoot the animal thinking they'll have a trophy.

I've never actually seen anything on chipping wolves either, just bar talk from a guy who knows a guy whose step-uncle shot one and got in trouble because it had a frickin' heart rate monitor or some such, that sort of thing. This is back before we had a season.

The pictures of collared wolves I've seen make them seem hard to miss.
