The only people that should press charges are the girl with a hole in her leg and the person with a hole in their apartment.

I know accidents happen, but that was no accident. EVERY time I pick up a gun to clean it, look at it, show it to someone, whatever, I check to make sure it's unloaded. It's a reflex to me. Pick up a gun, treat it as if it's loaded until I check and make sure.

I believe they were living together. and I am willing to bet the bullet was lodged in her leg. but yes, I agree.

Dumbass yes, but unintentional accidents do happen. It doesn't mean the popo needs to butt in and press charges if the woman (presumably his girlfriend/wife) doesn't want to.
