Mojo baby twin pack or single?

Postby Goldfish » Fri Nov 29, 2013 12:05 pm

The baby mojo twin pack is on sale for $80 and Cabelas has free shipping. Rogers has a single baby mojo that after shipping comes to about $60. Here's the kicker, the twin pack uses AA batteries, the single users a 6v rechargeable battery. Which would you go with?

Mine is the 6v rechargeable and it's nice. With the price of batteries, you'd probably come out ahead in the long run buying two 6v instead of the twin pack.

Those are a pain in the ass in my experience. After one or 2 recharges they seemed to be junk.

Twin pack, is what I would get. Rechargeables I never remember to recharge. Batteries would be a nice option, plus you get 2 for almost the price of one.

I'd go with the twin packs. Buy a hundred pack of batteries before the season. If you have any left over use them around the house and stuff. That's what I with my dove mojos.

how many AA's do they take? If it's 4 then they are still running on 6 volts. you can always customize the battery set-up.

each AAA, AA, C or D is 1.5 volts
2 AA = 3 volts
4 AA = 6 volts
6 AA = 9 volts

So why don't they just take 9v batteries?

a single 9 volt has very little reserve capacity. It would run it but for just a few minutes.

fire alarms don't use very much power (amps) to run. A motor uses a lot more. Take for instance a cheap radio controlled car, 9 volt in the controller and AAA in the car.

twin pack and then see about using a 6 volt to run them, if not rechargeable AA's.

You can't go wrong with either purchase. They both come with a sweet mojo barrel sticker.

Just because it has 6 batteries doesn't mean it's 9 volts

I hate the idea of AAs. Carrying around 30 extra batteries to ensure they run through a long hunt is just dumb.

I think Rogers had the twin pack 6v with remotes for a great price.

If you hunt geese those remotes will come in handy.

if it has 6 AA's, each AA is 1.5 volts, battery trays run batteries in series therefore 9 volts total.

Plus I doubt that mojo is running different rated motors in different decoys.

Because it's easier to carry around a generator and extension cord to recharge the 6V?

but the 6 volts will last a lot longer than the AA's so they shouldn't have to be charged that often

^This. I've had my 6v two pack for two seasons. I can run them non stop for more than 8 hours without an issue.

I'm sure they would go longer, but I haven't tried.

Get home. Put the charging plug in the exterior port. Good to go the next morning. Eff that extra battery crap.

Have a link? Didn't see that. My friend said "for $20 more, you get two WITH rechargeable batteries"

I'll check. With the remotes it's quite a bit more expensive, but a good deal for what you get...
