This dude spent three days in a sunken ship, with no food, water, or light. While searching for dead bodies divers found him in an air pocket. Crazy Shit. Dude was born with a crazy amount of patience to wait it out that long! This vid is the moment they found him but there are longer ones on youtube.

Probably planned on holding out until he ran out of beer.
Wow, put him in a Kirby-Morgan band mask, told him to breathe normally and took him out.

Even if the water was 75 degrees, core temp would still drop over the course of three days. Don't you think?

Your right, he was probably in shock. He also has some weight on him which helps. If you can keep the water close around you, no current, and keep your head above water your also doing well.
There was a story of a family holding onto wreckage up here after their boat sunk. The dad went first trying to pull off a rescue somehow and moving around too much. Then the kids went next. The overweight wife made it.

Not this Mexican. I put my feet in Lake Superior in August of 1999, and I don't think they've warmed up yet. Anything less than 75 degrees, and I don't even want to get in it.

And I'm sure this Nigerian stowaway knew all about them.
I'm still calling horsepuckey. TK and I have spent enough time around boats, we know what how long an individual can survive in a capsized vessel.

through osmosis the oxygen in the water would have also been transferred to the air he was in.
