up at 4:30 15 min drive to river unload boat in drezzlin rain saw a truck at landing i don't know so i know some one else hunting.get to my blind 2 guy,s in it dressed in all new gear with pile of decoy ,mojo boxes staked by blind .boat out in wide open so i tell them ur in my blind .now the shit start,s about land right,s and water right,s . not calling land owner at 5 in the morn.just go down to a spot i hunt with my boat blind .10 min before shooting time boom boom boom and this goes on for an hour . see duck,s only now all a mile up wait em out. hear outboard start an buzz off.i hang out and around 9ish get 2 teal an 1 woody . go back by blind pick up all the boxes an trash .pissed just cover it

we never see a game warden on this little river and everybody know,s each other and we all get along for the most part so ill just suck this one up and move on .the land owner told me to post it and he did not care what time it was next time call him . just hate to start a big deal

landowner might be a hothead, if someone called me at 3 am to tell me there was trespassers on our 40 I'd be tickled pink and in my truck, would make my day

Two wrongs don't make a right. Prison is full of people who acted on impulse.

I dont think pointing a gun at someone for a misdemeanor crime and then lying about it is a good idea.

Just because you can get away with it (by lying) don't make it right. And you never know, the judge might NOT take your word over a trespasser. The you are back to jail and a felony and never being able to hunt or own a gun.

Is it really worth it? Why not just call the sheriff?

Because the land owner would have to get involved. And odds are no one would be hunting there after the cops showed up on his doorstep at 5am. That is if the cops ever actually showed up at all.

You could always go to the prosecutor during business hours and give a sworn statement.

Pointing a gun at someone is a serious thing to do.
An illegal thing to do.

Not if you feel your life is in danger.
They were trespassing...when asked to leave they became agitated and aggressive. Resulting in the need to draw the weapon.
Sounds pretty good to me. I think it would hold up.
