That's why people love mallards. They can make anybody look like a pro. Shooting mallards is like bringing the fatty home at the end of the night.

Turns out I am off tomorrow so I just got done loading up for the morning. I am heading to McGee. If your heading that way, let me know Betty.

I get the message at 5am. A little late and McGee? Dunn is where they SLAM em late season buddy. Other side of the river .

I go to bed at about 6-7pm and get up at 3-4 AM. I'm a duck hunter. Try calling me at 8pm sometime...nobody home.

We're between splits until next weekend, and when I stepped outside into a cold rain this morning, I thought, "I don't have to hunt this morning." instead of "I don't get to go hunting this morning." I'm officially old.

I've been thinking the same thing for a week. We don't open back up until the 16th, so it's nice to know I don't have to go outside, at least not for long. Still another month and a half of checking traps daily, but that's far quicker when it's all I have to do, rather than something else I have to do on my way home from the marsh.

Looking forward to heading south again but Damn, it's just as cold down there . Was kinda hoping it'd be you know,
30-35 degree night's with 45-50 degree days. Not this year.
