What are yall's best recipes for Duck Chili? Lady is coming in town and I want to make it for her.
I don't have a crockpot so anything that you can cook without one is preferable

Tasted like any other duck I've ever had. Coots are now on the menu if regular ducks aren't flying.

Chilli is something you can't fuck up. Personally I would grind the duck meat into a ground because that's what I like and then make it the same way you make whatever your favorite Chilli is.

They only problem I have with shooting a coot now is they aren't very fun to shoot, not much sport in it. But after trying it I'd say not to be worried about the taste if you need more filler for the freezer. They'd be good dog training aids too.

Coot is Damn good eating.to clean it all u do is step on the feet with one foot under each of your feet grab each a wing in a hand and pull up with steady pressure till the breast separates from the rest of the bird and don't forget the gizzards and heart

When I hear people say that divers taste like shit I think two things.
This person doesn't shoot as many ducks as they claim or this person doesn't eat any of the ducks they shoot.

I'm with Olly. I don't like "whole" meats in my chili, only ground. Matter of fact, I despise chili with hunks of meat in it.

Doc, try the vegetable beef recipe on the back of the box. Use a pound or more of duck meat instead of beef.

Everyone in my family eats this stuff up, then licks the bowl. Use Swanson beef broth instead of water. Two of the boxes. Its 8 cups, recipe calls for 7, dump it in. Put diced onions and some of them little carrots in too.

They all taste the same to me too. Just like flying liver.

Better yet, use the chili recipe and substitute duck for chicken.

Good thing about griding it is you can mix in other meats if you don't have enough duck to make a chilli.

I like ground because it seems to "soak up" the chili flavor. When you eat chili with hunks of beef in it, when you eat a piece of it, you may as well be chewing on pot roast. Flavorless.

the only ducks i don't eat are divers, because i won't shoot them anymore.
i can promise you, the ones i've shot out here are not palatable.
