Caught another damn skunk in my trap

Drown it.

Yeah, if you want it to spray.

A much better option is to use buckshot and shoot it in the guts. The multiple trauma will confuse the nerve endings and prevent it from spraying. That's what I do.

I heard kicking the cage extra hard reenacts the skunks natural mating season fighting dance and instead of spraying you it'll just try humping your leg.

When I first started trying to trap foxes, caught a few skunks. As soon as I switched to lures instead of bait...no more polecats. I was using leg hold traps in dirt though.

I hate skunks.

I have no idea what the right procedure is for killing a skunk.

The only skunk I have ever killed was in college and I threw a beer bottle at, smoked in the head.

I got about 20 yards away and shot it with my pistol and of coarse it sprayed everywhere. Gotta go get it out now :/

And I don't have any bait or lures in the trap. Just set it up to see what was dumb enough to walk in it. Apparently the skunk was dumb enough.

What kind of moron shoots a skunk in a trap. Oh never mind I forgot who we were talking about.

When my homer loft was in the country, I kept a live trap like that in the open shed it was part of and caught skunks fairly often. Seems they can't spray without getting their tails cocked up, because I'd just carry the trap out in the field, open the door and pop them with a shotgun after they'd run off a piece.

Then one day I caught one small enough to get his pistol cocked in the trap. He showed me.

I'd rather shoot it in the trap than take a chance at getting sprayed while handling the trap with the live skunk in it.

You should have lassoed the cage, tied it behind your car, and drove into the nearest body of water.

Depends what kind of live trap you got.
