Wet Sneakers and WhiteTails...

"Bowden, what the hell are you wearing?" Bowden had just gotten to the house, ready go hunting, and he was wearing his pair of sneakers instead of boots. I said whatever and we started off down into the willows and the creek, hoping to catch a buck coming down from his bedding spot. Sure enough, Bucky came out, but came out running. I didn't think Bowden was going to put the gun up, but all of a sudden I heard the bark of that .30-30, and the thump of one hard hit. Down he went but the fun was over when we realized we had to cross a creek; well the fun ended for Bowden, I was fine cross 5-6" deep water. It wasn't terribly cold, but wet feet sucks even when it's 40 degrees out. We both got him dressed and out of there and home just in time for dinner.

A true friend world have carried his bootless buddy across the roaring creek to dress that deer without wet sneakers!

I'm starting to see a pattern about hunting with RMFC!

Looks like a great deer for that young man. Congratulations!

He insisted that he would cross the creek instead of jumping on my back and going over. Either way, I about shit myself when he shot. One hell of shot with that buck running through the willows. That 170 gr. Speer did the trick for him. That was some of the finest back straps I've ever had off a deer.

We don't need to use our fingers or toes if that's what you mean.

Just making sure you didn't have four fingers and a palm guard on each hand or some other crazy shit.

Do they count total points on an elk? What's your point?

I'm just glad my kid was born with 5x5 hands and 5x5 toes. That's all that really matters.

If your kids got five hands on either side, that's a little weird.
