Interested in this myself. Let us know what you go with. I'm hoping that I can just pay for service when I need it a couple times a year rather than an annual contract.

Iridium is the best brand hands down. CG uses them all the time. As far as contacts or services I can't speak to that. But find a company that offers Iridium phones.

my buddy had one, said that it costs 7 bucks per minute or something like that. i think he got rid of it because he couldn't justify the cost.

I just looked into it deeper and Iridium not only makes the phones but they have the satellites in orbit so I bet you can buy service from them.

The Iridium phones I've installed and used were built like tanks, you could club a baby seal with one.

who's your service provider? Not sure how it is in CO but up here the only cell service that works is Verizon. I've found very few areas where i don't have some coverage. You may want to look into that if you haven't already.

either way, hope it works out!

Iridium has 66 satellites in orbit. The price of voice anywhere in the world isn't cheap.

Why is he getting fucked in the ass?

He's buying a product that requires fucking MACHINES IN SPACE and he can TALK ANYWHERE ON THE PLANET.

I don't think you quite understand what he bought.

I haven't found many places it does: mountains are a bitch. Shit, coverage is even spotty here and it's really flat.
