The Kansas City Cabelas normally has wild ducks and geese in their pond. They often do dog retrieving sessions there. Here is what it looked like yesterday.



I got to meet Sean Mann. He is about the nicest guy you would ever want to meet, and a very good caller.



Here is a picture I took of the Kansas Killing Krew. L to R, Mohuntingguy, Goodkarmarising, DJJ, and Jarbo. It was nice to see the fellas and to get caught up. We are all pretty stoked up for this season to get here.



Jarbo and Mohuntingguy are good callers, and I have heard them both use the Haydels DR-85, aka "the crackpipe". I got one a while back, and it was out of tune. We all met Rod Haydell, a very decent fellow, and he tuned it for me. I got this picture of 3 fellas that know how to use a crackpipe the RIGHT way.



All and all, it was a pleasant time. I took home some new bullets and powder, Britman got a new goose call, and Jarbo got some decoys. DJJ bought some stuff for T-man. Last night I went to a fish fry with Jarbo, it was a great finish to a good day.

Only Goodkarmarising (Diamond Joe) got out of there without spending any money. I think that's because he was still smarting from buying a fancy new suite and tie for a wedding he went to last night. I told him he looked better in waders.

Man, I wish I was closer to you guys. You all look like you have some pretty good adventures. I second the Sean Mann assessment. He is a very good guy. More than once I have called their 800 with questions regarding a goose call, and on two of those occasions he was the one who answered the phone, and spent as much time as I wanted on the phone. Didn't try to rush me or pawn me off on anybody else, ever. At one point, he even recommended that I buy a competitors' call, as he thought that is what would work better and make me happier for the specific situation I was describing. All around good guy.

Or maybe he thought if you bought a competitors call you would'nt call him for advice anymore?

If you moved here, you would be part of the Krew on day one. You need to get out of that communist state as soon as you can. And yes, Sean Mann was about as good as it gets. He was a very decent man. Same with Rod Haydel. Both were great callers. The RNT guys were there, and although they were good callers and friendly folks, they tended, IMO, to be a bit more sales orientated than I felt like dealing with on my day off.

Thanks fellas. We had a good visit. I can't speak for Mohuntingguy, but the other 3 in that pictures were into their cups, shall we say, that night

GKR is 6'1" DJJ is...TALL. Mohuntingguy and I are just under 6 foot.

Jarbo is not the tallest, but is without a doubt the strongest. When you shake his hand, you know you are shaking a hand that could crush you. He was a pitcher in college and has a heck of an arm on him. He can throw a bumper roughly twice as far as me or GKR.

6'1" isn't tall.... My GF is 6'2" and I'm rounding out 6'5"... TK that looks like a great time was had!

If she's from Michigan and over thirty odds are good I know her. If ages younger than 25 there is a good chance I know her mother
