Truck is back home

We'll, we got my truck back together this week. We'll paint it later when it warms up, but until then I won't have any trouble finding it in a parking lot. :l Bright side is I'll fit right in up here. :l Body shop estimate was $14,100 to put it back together. Right now I'm sitting at $3925 in parts and labor, and that includes the mechanic replacing a leaking pinion seal and replacing the overhead console computer (which hadn't worked for 4 years). I'll eventually round up a camper shell for 5-$600, and after buying the paint to shoot the truck I'll have around $5000 into the fix up. Yeah, I know it will have a salvage title, but I don't care...I wasn't going to get rid of it in the first place and I sure as hell can't afford another car payment. Next step is the brake and lamp inspection on March 3rd, then the CHP inspection, then DMV to retitle. I appreciate the insurance company giving me a lot more money than I needed to complete the project. :tu

Nice! What'd it cost ya for the overhead console? Mine is out too but just haven't cared enough to replace it.

Looking sharp Gene! Love the black door. It's the opposite color scheme of our patrol cars

The computer module was about $300.

Hey Gene, are you in Yreka? That's still to fancy to fit in around Hornbrooke or Montague.

Yep. If I go to Hornbrook they'll mistake it for a Lexis.

Haha! That's a rough little area there. I spent a few weeks up there a few years ago working on that big 3 story log home on the river. It's an interesting area.

I hope you stop and hug that tree every time you drive by.

That tree and the hand of God are the only reason I didn't end up in the river.
