My old business partner (the guy I've been helping frame on the weekends) just did this to himself today. He's pissed, because he couldn't just pull it out, because it went through the bone. Said he almost passed out when he pulled with the channelocks, and it didn't budge.

I just about fell out of my chair.

While I haven't seen it happen with a Paslode, it happens on a pneumatic gun usually when the cord gets caught.
That is definitely in there good if it only went in that far.

When you're nailing a wall together, it's laying down flat. The studs are layed on the top plate, which is stood on edge. Then you work down the wall, grabbing a stud with one hand, turning it edge up, setting it on layout, and then shooting through the top plate into the top of the stud. Sometimes, when you're going fast, your hand will "creep up" the studs, so that the hand holding it is only an inch or so below the top plate. And then if you bump fire the gun on the edge of the top plate, the wood will blow out, and the nail goes into your hand. Usually try to keep your hand about a foot or so down the stud, to keep this from happening, but it doesn't always work that way when you get rolling.

WTF is that? And dont tell me its a tool for picking up a dead hooker.

It's called a tweaker, it's for holding the stud when building the wall, you put it on the stud and can pick up and or twist to align it without having your hand on the wood, great leverage

You could get tweakers to hold shit for you here for probably 10 bucks.
