Irritated

Last week had regular maintenance done on my truck. Oil and filter, fuel filter and transmission flush and filters.
Sunday I get in the truck to go to Menards to get some bolts for the Kracken and when I shift into drive bang clunk.... Dash says shift interrupted. Shift to neutral to reset. Do as told and a bigger louder clunk and now no gears.
Check the tranny dipstick and no fluid.
Monday morning truck gets towed to the dealership. They call me at noon and tell me I have several blown transmission lines and since it's an internal problem that it will be $1100 to fix as warranty doesn't cover that. I calmly tell him no, that's not going to work. I asked him if he thought it was possible his techs screwed up on the flush. He says no. I ask him to go back and talk to your service manager and then call me back and explain how the transmission lines blew without leaving a drop of fluid on my driveway, the road, the back of my truck, the underside of my truck or the outside of the tranny. He calls back and tells me his service manager talked to gm and they are going I cover the costs of the repairs....
I still don't have a friggin clue what the repair is?!? what kind of cobbled together transmission am I going to have when they are done with it? It's till under warranty for another 25k miles but damned, wtf?

I suggest when you get it back to drive it like you stole it for the next 25K.

I don't get why there wasn't transmission fluid everywhere.

Cause when they flushed it, some varnish filled the small jets, and there was no fluid in it. They probably only put in a half quart and it read "full". Or they forgot that step altogether.
I'd sit a half mile down the road from the dealership doing neutral drops until its broke enough to get a new one.

My dads old powerstrokes tranny took a dump one day, it blew a line as i was starting off from a redlight and it poured pretty much all of its contents on the ground.
EDIT* forgot to mention that of course it was my fault and that if he had been driving it that wouldnt have happened.

You will get another transmission I would think. They will get it covered under warranty, it is cheaper for then to replace a tranny than it is to repair one.

That'd be impossible with a midget. More like a "32 1/2" or something.

With one of Jehler's captive tranny midgets, you could probably just get a 68. The "you do me and I owe you one" position.

Yeah, they're pullin' your leg. Assume it's an Allison protectin' itself from low pressure because the dummies didn't get it full of fluid. Those trannies hold lots o' fluid. They'll probably get by with just fillin' it up. Believe I'd find me another shop. $1100 would cover virtually nothing in that transmission.

the 1100 was labor and parts to replace the the lines to the cooler they said "blew out". When they couldn't explain how they blew out without dumping fluid all over my driveway the story changed to "lines leaking" when they couldn't explain how the lines could leak enough in 8 days to have my trannsmission not shift without leaving an oily film anywhere on the back or underside of my truck the manager finally conceded that his guys didn't fill my tranny up.... Dumbasses replaced lines that were fine

I hate dealing with dealerships when you actually know the workings of a vehicle. They think everyone is an idiot and doesn't comprehend how things work and try and usually do screw over people.
