When I was in Boy Scouts the troop leader was from the radio club in town. My dad was the president for years.
Our troop made money by getting old radios and TV's and then taking all the tubes out and testing them.
We'd find good ones and sell them at Hamfests. There was a lot of money in that for quite a few years in the 1970's.
We funded a Colorado trip, Piedmont, and some other cool places.

Hey...I was digging around in the shed today and found a BRAND NEW VARIAC variable power supply. A ham radio buff like Olly would probably want it. Every time I found something I thought, "Olly would probably like this".
I found two panavices that are for holding circuit boards while you work on them and an old oscilloscope.

That's what Assa needs for his handmade lightning generator.

This is a Variac like I found. It's old but in the box still. Not identical, newer and a different color but you get the idea.

I have no such pictures unless my mom hoards that too.
It would not surprise me. I still have my pinewood derby car. I tossed the uniforms, and my scout ties a couple years ago when we moved. Shoulda asked then. Troop 7 Champaign...porbably still exists.
Were you a boy scout too?

Don't you have a scout leader uniform you wear to lure them within your reach?
