The coastal elk are. Pretty much all the elk west of the cascade range are. On the eastside are Rocky Mountain elk just like Montana's.

That video made me awful home sick. Great find. Biggest herd I
ever saw on the coast was near Gearhart. A good friend of mine and the best outdoorsman I know took a great bull on the coast last season. I'll see if he's cool with me putting up some pics

The article I found it in was sent to me via email. Neither the email or article mentioned the exact location. I know they have herds that do that in Tillamook area but, that didn't look like Tillamook unless it is out by Cape Meares.

That's the Dean Creek refuge sighting area. It's not right on the beach but, I suppose those elk could make their way there.
