Can't come soon enough. Anyone else still awake waiting for 3am to roll around? Can't sleep thinking about how much fun it's going to be around 6am when the birds start dropping in.

Hell, at least you've got a cut field to hunt in. Someday around here, they'll push the resident opener back to the last two weeks in Sept instead of the first two, and it'll be a slaughter. I'll be wearing my Crocs, bathing suit, and Larry the Cable Guy outfit hunting this afternoon. It's hot as balls.

He got all three perfect! The first one to go down was about five minutes after shooting light and I looked over to release the dog and he was shaking with anticipation. Must have cleared ten feet before he hit the water. The second bird was still kicking and I was worried it would throw him off but he snatched it up without even fighting the bird. Yea I love waterfowl hunting but nothing holds a candle to seeing my dog that I trained on my own work like that.
Time for my traditional after hunt nap.

Wishful thinking has had me calling away at those damn commies on a slow morning. I feel like just walking to the truck leaving all my gear where it lays when I do

Don't feel bad during a slow slump this morning I sprang up and almost shoulder the gun on 3 of them coming in fast and low of the spread. I blamed it on the sun in my eyes
