I'm not asking in the context "you don't need a knife/gun/whatever"
Or do you carry one for personal protection? That would honestly be my only use for one but I believe I am a tad to clumsy to have it be a effective means for protection.

Seriously? Knives are an incredibly useful tool for just about anyone. I'm not sure that profession matters.

I'm dead serious. I've never been in a position where I said "wish I had a knife on me right now". In an everyday use scenario. I obviously bring one while hunting/fishing etc

I carry mine and a leather man everywhere. Use them both on a daily basis at work and at home.

I carry mine for personal protection and I use it at work a good amount. I'm just glad my school isn't totally communist. They still allow students to carry knives as long as the blades under 4", it's not a fixed blade, not spring assisted, and does not have a serrated edge.
no kidding. I wouldn't have thought a school like that still existed in AmericaEric Haynes wrote:R. Chapman wrote:Eric Haynes wrote:What do you guys do for a living that you use/need to carry a knife for?

That's actually pretty awesome Rex.

You don't realize how much you would use it, till you have it to use. That sounds stupid, but it's the truth.
Redbeard wrote:Eric you're a crazy man for not carrying a knife. Mine is a tool that I couldn't get through an average day without. Everything from castrating wild pigs on my cowboy buddy's ranch every Monday and Wednesday to my work as a part time Jewish mohel performing Brit Milah's every Thursday. Not to mention it makes a great tooth pick.
Oh and I use it two nights a week in my Filipino martial arts class.
