Had a cheap ($6) holster laying around, and found a good use for it!

And the mag pouch holds 3 refills.....

The bailing wire secures the safety strap, and the belt loop fits into the waders pouch, and holds pretty securely. Beats the hell out of the $25 holster from thermacell!

I love my Thermacell. There's no doubt that it lets me hunt and scout when otherwise I wouldn't even bother.

I bought the thermacell pouch, it was only like 8 or 9 bucks.

Do you guys run your thermacells while on your hip (in a vertical position)? I thought I read it had to be on a horizantal.

Mines usually vertical in a treestand, horizontal in a boat. But I don't like it very close to me, so never keep it actually on me.

But have you had any problems with it being vertical. For some odd reason when I bought it I actually skimmed through the directions, and thought it is said flat only. Just dont want to blow myself up or something stupid.

Nope, and the pads appear to evenly hear, no matter which way it sits. Mine's about 7 years old, but I don't think they've changed.

They probably just put it in the directions because some dummy had it on his waist, let his coat come down over it, and lit himself on fire.

I wasn't familiar with them. They are pretty effective? Early in the year I've seen my yellow lab look gray with mosquitos. Go to wipe her off and get a blood smear that looks like the work of Hannibal Lecter.

Yes. They are worth every penny. I don't bother with any kind of repellent at all, just the thermacell. It'll stop the flies and mosquitoes in a marsh in August in their tracks. And you will know exactly when you leave the little "bubble" as even more proof that they work.
